Do you have a daily rate?

Admission to Glencoe CampResort covers two weeks, no matter how many days you stay (in 2008, it's from July 28 through August 11). There is no daily rate available.

Do you allow pets?
You bet, as long as you treat your neighbor the way you want to be treated (no smelly surprises in the middle of the night). Pets must be on a leash. We recommend you bring a written rabies certificate and written health certificate.

Can I ship in gear?
You can ship using UPS and FedEx. There will be a $10 handling fee and you can pick your gear up at the main gate. You will have to get it to your campsite, so keep that in mind when packing the kitchen sink. We will help you ship back when you're ready to leave (UPS) or you can use the Postal Service satellite office at Kick Start Travel Center. You will need to do your own boxing for return shipment. Sorry, we can't ship back to Canada

How's the security at Glencoe?
It's great! We have twenty-four hour roving security guards, and so far (knock on chrome) there has not been a problem with theft or vandalism. However, use common sense when leaving property lying around unattended.

Can I have visitors at my campsite?
We do allow visitors at the following rate $20 for 8 hours PLUS valid driver's license.

Can I reserve a specific RV site?
If you were here last year, you have first choice on your same RV site, if you notify us by January 1. You can also request a specific site for next year, at the main ticket office, when you get ready to leave this year; we'll call you in January. The minimum deposit for an RV site is the cost of the hook-ups.

What can I put on my RV site?
That 25' x 75' lot is basically your little piece of South Dakota for two weeks, so, you can park just about anything there...vehicles, tents, campers, trailers, etc. You just can't extend over your boundaries and you can only have one item hooked up.

Can I reserve a specific camping site?
Camp sites are first come, first served, so if you have a specific spot you want, you'll have to get here early. We don't limit the size of your site, however, you can't use barricades or tape to mark your territory.

What can I put on my camping site?
You have lots of room, so make yourself at home. In general camping, you can park trailers and vehicles next to your tent. The 'motorcycle only' area is for tents and motorcycles, you can take your vehicles and trailers to the overflow parking lot.

Can we camp at Glencoe the other 50 weeks of the year?
Currently, Glencoe is open to individual camping only during Sturgis Bike Week. The campground is available to large groups (youth camps, RV clubs, etc.) when coordinated in advance.

Can I have a campfire or bonfire?
Nope, Meade County has passed a permanent 'open burning' ordinance - no open flames. This means no campfires, no bonfires, no open fire pits. You can bring camp stoves and lanterns.

Do you allow children to camp at Glencoe?
Grudgingly, we do allow children; however, remember that this is adult entertainment and the other campers don’t want to be around your kids. It’s honestly better to bring your kids to the Black Hills some other time of the year when the atmosphere is more family-friendly.

Reservations and refunds?
When? We recommend you make a reservation by June; RV sites need to be reserved in the spring (last year we ran out in April). If you have to cancel, we will give you an 80% refund until June 30. After July 1 there are no refunds.

Where? You can make a reservation online with a credit card at www.glencoecamp.com. You can reserve with a credit card by phone at 800/272-4712. You can request an order form that comes in the information packet and mail in your reservation to PO Box 999, Sturgis, SD 57785.

What? We will take personal checks up to June 30, after that we only accept credit cards (MasterCard, VISA and Discover), bank checks and money orders. We hold your reservations on all checks until they clear the bank, so please be patient.

Who? If you're coming to Sturgis you should have a reservation... most campgrounds have a max capacity, and although Glencoe is huge, we can fill up (based on reservations).
